We know that physicians suffer from impairment as much as — if not more than — the general population.  The question is not “if” you will have to address issues of practitioner impairment but “when.”

Join us for a discussion of the key elements of a practitioner health policy and make sure you have the tools to address this difficult situation.

Covered in this AC:

  • Defining “health issues” that should be reviewed;
    *
  • Dealing with immediate threats to the safety of patients and staff;
    *
  • Coordinating efforts with the practitioner’s employer;
    *
  • Working with practitioners in a collegial manner to obtain assessments;
    *
  • Defining a process for return to clinical practice; and
    *
  • Avoiding unnecessary disclosures of sensitive health information during recredentialing.
