Introduction
Professional Practice Evaluation Policy — Special Topics
July 11, 2017 - 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (ET)
FACULTY: Paul Verardi and Phil Zarone
Join us: A key to excellent leadership is excellent learning!
Designed to be informative for any Medical Staff member, 2017’s Grand Rounds should be particularly helpful for Medical Staff Leadership: Medical Staff Officers, members of the Medical Executive Committee, Department Chairs, Chairs of the Credentials and Peer Review Committees, and the Chairs of other key Medical Staff committees.
If you have new members in any of these important positions, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for direct education that we guarantee will be helpful to them in their new roles.
A modern Professional Practice Evaluation (aka “Peer Review”) Policy should anticipate and address specific issues that will arise during the review process. This promotes transparency and consistency by giving all practitioners advance notice of exactly how the process will work. As important, it also makes life easier for physician leaders by giving them guidance and tools they need to ensure that reviews are fair, effective, and constructive.
This audio conference will discuss modern and proactive policy provisions, such as:
- How do you effectively obtain input from the practitioner under review?
- What should happen if the practitioner does not respond?
- What Performance Improvement Plan Options work? How do you implement them?
- Where do “employed” physicians fit into the process?
- How can you more consistently and easily manage conflict of interest situations that bog many Medical Staffs down?
- And more!
Listen live on July 11, 2017. Or, purchase the recording (mp3 or CD) of this audio conference to share with Medical Staff members at an upcoming meeting or throughout the year.
